Memories are made at Bellahill

About Us

Find yourself immersed in the very heart beat of our local culture and discover the intrigue and passion for our traditions and crafts, as well as our Northern Irish hospitality and craic!

Bellahill (our home) is situated in the quiet countryside of Ballycarry, located on the Causeway Coastal Route and only a 10 minute drive from two local tourist attractions – The Gobbins and Carrickfergus Castle. The famous weaver poet James Orr, depicts the beauty of the area in his poem, The Bellahill Tree and William James Hume describes the serenity of the valley in his folk song The Muttonburn Stream, which runs close by our home.

Arlene is a passionate cookery tutor with over 20 years experience teaching and demonstrating to people of all ages and abilities, all over the UK.  The highlight of her career, included website filming with Jamie Oliver and with some (now very famous) X Factor contestants!!  Her enthusiasm for good food and traditional Northern Irish cooking is infectious, and her easy relaxed manner will make you feel instantly at home as she serves up her favourite traditional fare! Arlene is always keen to share her recipes and inspire others to cook, so don’t forget to ask her for her recipes and top cooking tips!
