Bellahill Cookery Lunch Demonstrations (Experience something new)

Arlene’s Lunch Demonstrations offer groups a relaxed and fun demonstration followed by a tasty two course lunch in the privacy of her spacious open plan family home located, in beautiful countryside.

Groups can sit back, relax and enjoy Arlene’s 1 hour demonstration in her large kitchen. You will learn new recipe ideas, a few technical skills and lots of handy hints and tips. Afterwards, you can enjoy a delicious two course lunch followed by tea/ coffee and a Bellahill bite in her dining area with beautiful views.


NORTHERN IRELAND BORN AND "BREAD”

A celebration of traditional griddle breads and our finest local produce.
Take a nostalgic step back in time and connect with Ulster’s past and savour the tastes and smells of freshly baked griddle breads. Arlene will demonstrate how they are baked on a griddle (just like her mum and granny did), and then you can enjoy them served up with a selection of our finest local produce.


• Potato farls with Glenarm smoked salmon, cream cheese and chives
• Soda farls with Abernethy butter maple cured Cookstown bacon and Fivemiletown brie cheese.
• Wheaten farls with Abernethy butter Gracehill black/white pudding and caramelised apple wedges.
• Buttermilk pancakes with Clandeboye Estate yogurt, blueberries and honey

SODA FARLS AND FADGE DEMONSTRATION



Here you can take a nostalgic step back in time and connect with Ulsters’ past. You will enjoy savouring the tastes and smells of traditional soda bread, wheaten farls, pancakes and fadge (potato bread), as Arlene shows you how they are baked on a griddle. Enjoy the craic, the Ulster hospitality and reminisce about days gone by.

The Bellahill Cookery “Soda Farls and Fadge” demonstration” lasts approximately 1.5 hours (depending on the craic) and includes lots of bread samples with butter and jam, tea or coffee, water or juice.

ULSTER SCOTS LUNCH MENU

Enjoy a traditional two course lunch with tea/ coffee and a very Northern Irish mini traybake. Groups must choose one main and one dessert to suit all the group. Optional: Bring your own wine!

•Smoked haddock bacon and leek chowder served with homemade Guinness wheaten bread

•Traditional Irish stew- white lamb stew with potatoes onions and carrots served with freshly baked soda or wheaten bread

Arlene’s lunches offer groups the privacy of a relaxing two course lunch with tea/coffee and a Bellahill bite, served in her beautiful dining room. Lunch booking arrangements can be tailored to the needs of individual groups.

Enjoy a Bellahill Lunch followed by an interactive talk about life in the trenches during the 1st World War!

Bellahill Cookery Themed Tasting Demos (Experience the flavours and fun)

Arlene’s tasting demos offer groups a relaxed and fun, themed cookery demonstration in the informal atmosphere of her spacious open plan kitchen. Groups are welcomed with light refreshments as they sit round Arlene’s large kitchen island, relax and enjoy the 2.5 hour demo (usually three recipes). They can tuck into tasty samples, (you will not go home hungry) learn new recipe ideas, a few technical skills and lots of handy hints and tips while enjoying the craic. Daytime and evening bookings available.

You will learn how to professionally prepare, marzipan, cover and decorate a Christmas cake. This is a demonstration only evening and Arlene will be happy to advise and encourage you with your own Christmas cake ideas.
Festive party bites include: taleggio and fig toasts, smoked salmon and dill crostinis, cranberry and marmalade sticky sausages, oatcakes and cheese with Bellahill winter spiced apple jelly, eggnog pannacotta shots with mulled fruit coulis and chocolate slab with fruit nuts and seasalt.
